The federal cabinet approved the appointment of Lieutenant General (Retired) Muhammad Saeed as the new Chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in August 2025. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with Deputy PM Ishaq Dar present, met Saeed to congratulate him and discuss ongoing WAPDA projects. He replaces Lt Gen (Retd) Sajjad Ghani.

  • Experience: He previously served as Corps Commander Karachi, Director General (DG) Rangers, and Chief of General Staff.
  • Role Focus: He is tasked with overseeing critical water and power infrastructure projects across Pakistan.
