✔️ Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally **appointed **Qatari mountaineer and member of the Qatari royal family, Sheikha Asma Al Thani, as Brand Ambassador for Pakistan’s Mountains and Tourism.
The appointment came after her historic climb of Nanga Parbat, one of the world’s highest and most dangerous peaks in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region.
Sheikha Asma became the first Qatari woman and one of the few Gulf climbers to achieve this feat, bringing international attention to Pakistan’s mountain tourism potential.
In his announcement on social media (X), the prime minister said:
“I am pleased to appoint Her Highness Sheikha Asma Al Thani as the Brand Ambassador for Pakistan’s mountains and tourism.”
He also called her achievement “truly inspiring” and a sign of courage and determination that would help promote Pakistan’s natural beauty globally.
The decision is seen as part of efforts to boost tourism, adventure sports, and international visibility for Pakistan’s mountain destinations, leveraging Sheikha Asma’s global profile and mountaineering credentials.
